Ziani Chérif El Ayad
Graduate of the National School for Dramatic Art and Choreography of Algiers, Ziani Chérif El Ayad started his professional career in the National Theatre of Algiers as an actor till becoming its Artistic director in 2001. He is a respected director in the Arab world and has undertaken the task to create and promote theatrical exchanges between the two shores of the Mediterranean. To do this he set up the independent El Gosto Theatre troupe. Ziani Chérif Ayad is at the forefront of the fight to renew both theatre and culture in Algeria and is currently committed to building a contemporary Arab theatre repertoire and to make this live and breath in the Maghreb countries, throughout Europe and internationally across the world.
