Alain Hayot
PHd in Sociology and Ethnology, Alain Hayot works as an academic : he specialised in urban anthropology, his field of research and publication centres on migrants, new urban rituals, and the relationships between city and urban planning. In 1997, he worked during the electoral campaign in Vitrolles and contributed to removing Megret from office. He then served for 6 years as part of the new left-wing town administration. He was elected to the Regional Assembly of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in 1998, then re-elected in 2004. He served as the vice-president in charge of culture, higher education and research. He is also a member of the national committee of the French Communist Party.
