Ahmed El Attar

Ahmed El Attar is an independent theatre director, translator and playwright, who lives in Cairo and works in the Middle East and in Europe. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Temple Independent Theatre Company in Egypt. El Attar is also the founder and General Manager of Studio Emad Eddin Foundation, a unique space in Egypt and the Arab World, which provides rehearsal, training to performing artists in Cairo and residency spaces to visiting trainers and artists. A member of several international boards and advisory committees and currently, President of Femec - Forum euroméditerranéen des cultures, El Attar has been chosen by the Arabic edition of Newsweek (26/4/05) as one of 42 personalities who influence change in the Arab world.
